Operating Expenses
Operating expenses for the calendar year 2026 are estimated to be several thousand dollars. This is made up of lease payments, AMA fees, field, and equipment maintenance to name a few. We must continually consider expense reductions. We have recently negotiated a $500 decrease for our weed and feed expense. This is significant.
Income
Dues income year to date for the club is less than half of our operating expenses. Other income sources such as the annual ‘Millersburg RC & Friends’ fun fly, and new membership can help. Individual member donations are a major component to balancing our books. Our sincere thanks to those who have generously helped us out.
Membership
New membership can come from a variety of sources. Our ‘Learn to Fly Free’ campaign will continue this year. Pilots who attend the annual fun fly are another source. Our guest pilot policy brings new pilots to our flying site as well.
We encourage all current members to invite guest pilots to our outstanding flying site. Let’s show off our stuff. Our only requirement for guest pilots is that they are accompanied by a Millersburg RC member and are a current member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. AMA membership is must.
Let’s also remember that our flying site is the result of the financial and volunteer effort of our membership. If our guests like what they see and want to come on a regular basis they should join. This can be as a regular, associate, or youth member.
Moving Forward
1.To enhance flying site security a new lock has been installed at our entrance gate with a new code.
2.Physical ID cards have been created for each current member and will be distributed over the next few weeks. It is important that each member have his Millersburg RC ID and AMA Membership card when flying at Eby Field.
3.Let’s all pitch in with volunteer field maintenance (mowing), the annual fun fly, and our Learn to Fly Free campaign.
